Ham Radio Course- Amateur Radio (ham radio) is a popular hobby and service that brings people, electronics, and communication together. People use ham radio to talk across town, around the world, to communicate during natural disasters, in a S.H.T.F. situation, and for emergencies, all without the Internet or cell phones. It's fun, social, and educational, and can be a lifeline during times of need. In this course you will be taught how to use a HAM radio, how to communicate on the FRS frequency, when to use a HAM radio, important vocabulary that you need to have, setting up your nest as well as the opportunity to participate in real-world scenarios where students will be tasked with getting on a frequency and making contact, reporting their location and issue and then moving through how to deal with the issue. This course will be interactive. There will be movement, hands-on activities with the radios, and solving an unexpected medical issue. If this interests you then this is the class for you!
